Every model comes with three rows of seating, giving you room for up to nine passengers inside your vehicle, with standard cloth upholstery that feels great, plus available leather seating that takes things to the next level. The large interior gives you more than 44 inches of leg room up front, while your second-row passengers get 42 inches of leg room—even folks in the back get nearly 35 inches for stretching their legs out. And with more than 25 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the third row, you have plenty of room to load up with everything you need before you hit the road.
Chevrolet is known for great tech features these days, and the 2026 Tahoe is the perfect illustration of that, both inside and out. Standard features include a massive 17.7-inch LCD infotainment display with Google built in, along with an 11-inch color Driver Information Center screen. Higher trims come with enhanced features like a Bose CenterPoint sound system, Rear Camera Mirror, and more. Despite its large size, the Tahoe is still incredibly fun to drive thanks to its standard 355-hp engine, although the available 420-hp engine is a particular favorite of ours. To go a step further, you can even get a diesel engine with an EPA-estimated 24 MPG combined, something you will not find on many other SUVs out there.

Although there are a lot of different things to look at and appreciate with a vehicle like the Chevy Tahoe, for many of us, the interior is the most important detail. Fortunately for us, Chevy understands this well, and the 2026 Tahoe is beautifully appointed inside, with a spacious interior you and your family can really stretch out in. You get plenty of excellent standard features in the starting LS trim, with more options available to take things to the next level.
In terms of interior space, you have a lot of room to play with when it comes to the Tahoe, plus numerous options for seating when shopping for your next SUV. The standard LS model comes with eight-passenger seating thanks to a pair of bucket seats up front, with second- and third-row benches. An available front bench seat gives you room for nine passengers inside, while higher trims have seven-passenger seating due to a pair of captain’s chairs in the second row. In terms of room for your stuff, you get 25.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the third row, 72.5 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row, and 122.7 cu.ft. of total cargo space behind the front seats. That is a lot of room to play with, so you can get exactly what you want from your SUV.
Comfort features are at the forefront with the 2026 Chevy Tahoe, starting with premium cloth seating in Jet Black, although a lighter and airier color scheme is available. An eight-way power driver’s seat is standard, with a six-way power front-passenger seat, plus you get tri-zone automatic climate control to keep everyone comfortable. Looking at a premium trim like the High Country, you get perforated leather seating in Jet Black, with warm Mocha leather seating available, featuring power lumbar controls, ventilated front seats, and more great features to enhance your time on the road.

Looking at the High Country model again, it comes with a Bose CenterPoint Surround sound system with 10 speakers to create absolutely incredible audio that fills the cabin of the Tahoe. Bold Performance and Engineering

After all, you want something that feels good on the road; while small SUVs can get away with a modest engine and still offer a great drive, a large vehicle like the Tahoe needs some real power under its hood. Fortunately, Chevy understands this well, and they have approached the Tahoe with the same commitment to great performance that you will find on their powerful trucks like the Silverado.
You have three engines available for the Tahoe, starting with a 5.3L V8 that provides 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. For enhanced performance, there is a 6.2L V8 engine available that delivers 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, making it our favorite and one we often recommend to our customers who want to get more from their full-size SUV. Finally, there is a 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine available that provides 305 hp and an incredible 495 lb-ft of torque. All three of these engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission and are offered with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
What is most impressive, however, is that all three engines give you more than 8,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity when the Tahoe is properly equipped. That is perfect for hauling a boat or camper behind your SUV, or taking care of anything else you need to do each day. If fuel efficiency is a concern for you (understandable with a large SUV), then the diesel is a great choice since it gets an EPA-estimated 22 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway—providing an estimated 624 miles of highway driving from a full tank. The available Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive suspension is a particular favorite of ours; it gives you an incredibly smooth and responsive ride that feels like it floats along the road, while still keeping you in control.
