2018 Chevrolet Tahoe LT vs 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier

Proudly Serving Birmingham, AL

With plenty of interior space, high-tech features, and the power of a V8 engine, the new and stylish 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe dominates the full-size SUV market. Three trim levels are offered for the 2018 model year: LS, LT, and Premier, along with several seating configurations, including a front bench that increases capacity to nine. Chevrolet also introduced the Tahoe Custom, a 5-passenger model that completely eliminates the third row in order to preserve more cargo space. New for 2018, Chevrolet adds the Rally Sport Truck or RST Special Edition, which gives the vehicle a blacked-out trim and body color grill and door handles. Also for 2018, customers can choose a Borla exhaust system, Brembo brakes, and a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 that’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. In order to help our customers choose between the LT and Premier models, we’ve compared the two in a few major categories.

Exterior

The 2018 Chevy Tahoe is equipped with standard black assist steps, outside heated power-adjustable body-color manual folding mirrors, luggage rack side rails, and 18-inch all-season Blackwell tires. If you upgrade to the Premier model, you will be treated to outside heated power-adjustable, body-color power-folding mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators. The Premier also gets larger 20-inch polished aluminum wheels compared to 18-inch aluminum wheels in the LT model. The Premier model also gets fog lamps, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, and Hands-Free Gesture Liftgate, whereas the LT does not.

Interior

Step inside the 2018 Chevy Tahoe and you will be treated to luxury. Some noticeable differences between the two models includes a 8-inch MyLink touch screen in the LT without navigation, compared to an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation in the Premier, as well as a standard 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound system in the Premier, but a Bose 9-speaker sound system in the LT. The Premier also gets the added benefits of second row bucket seats with power release, heated second row seats, third-row power-folding 60/40 split-bench seats, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. While both are equipped with OnStar 4G LTE and available built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, cruise control, and rear window defogger, only the Premier model includes a standard power-tilt and telescopic steering column, wireless charging, available Adaptive Cruise Control, and keyless open.

Performance

Both the 2018 Chevy Tahoe LT and Premier used the same engine options. Drivers can choose the 5.3-liter V8 engine that boasts an impressive 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA estimated 16 city and 23 highway miles per gallon in 2WD models, and 16 city and 22 highway miles per gallon in 4WD models. For even more power, drivers can choose the legendary 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine puts out 460 lb-ft of torque and gets an EPA estimated 15 city and 22 highway miles per gallon in 2WD models and 15 city and 20 highway miles per gallon in 4WD models.
